The Contiki European Encounter Day 11

Rome
sightseeing! How can I do Rome justice on the
website? I really can't. We started out at 8
am on the Vatican Museums line and rushed straight to the
Sistine Chapel which we marveled at for about a half hour.
Then it was off to St. Peter's and seeing the Holy Door,
exploring the Basilica, and viewing the crypts of various
popes buried there. We saw Ray Romano of Everybody
Loves Raymond filming scenes from this season's shows on
our way to the Coloseum for a tour of the Roman ruins with
our guide Gabriela who embodied the ideal classy older
Italian woman, with her sunglasses and attitude. We
took a stop to explore the Pantheon and caught a cab back
to the hotel. After a hotel dinner of pasta and
chicken, we went to the hotel bar where Dave and I drank a
little too much. Ok, a lot too much.
